How to get value from Twitter events Hashtags with The Archivist. @Microsoft and Social Media

I’ve been using Microsoft’s excellent foray into social media tools, The Archivist, for a few weeks to extract some valuable information from Twitter events’ hashtags. This involves signing up with your Twitter handle at The Archivist site, entering your #Search terms and off you go. After looking at many similar tools, this one nails it!
Not only do I get a snapshot of twitter activity, it gives me

  • the feed data to play with or download in XLS format,
  • top links tweeted,
  • top tweeters — useful for improving the quality of people to follow, and of course,
  • the tweets to scan through for any interesting goodies/snippets.

Have a look at the three I’ve created so far:

The AMP Amplify Fest Event

Archivist AMPlify

The recent TedXMelbourne event

Archivist TEDxMelbourne

and the StartupVisa Initiative in the USA that has delivered amazing results!

Archivist StartupVisa

If you’ve found a better tool to get a snapshot of events, please let me know in the comments below…

Enjoy The Archivist!
