Like all tools (email, Slack, etc) , discipline is required. Whether you’re checking email every 30 seconds or responding to every Slack notification because it’s there boils down to how you choose to consume info. Slack works for me precisely because I can use it asynchronously and don’t feel compelled to respond to every comment or update. Read ‘Deep Work’ by Cal Newport for more.
